Be sure to have the following:
  1. Three confidential letters of reference
  2. Application for Admission to Graduate Studies
  3. Yellow Application for Teaching Fellowship
  4. Letter of Financial Backing and Statement of Understanding (pages 14 & 15 of “International Graduate Admissions” booklet)
  5. Two passport-size photographs of yourself
  6. Check for $75.00 application fee (Made out to: University of Houston)
  7. Two Official transcripts of all previous college or university work
  8. English translation of transcripts (if necessary)
  9. TOEFL examination scores
  10. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) score (General and Subject tests)
notes:
  • Items 1-6 may all be returned in the enclosed self-addressed envelopes.
  • Items 7-8 should be sent by the Colleges/Universities you have attended.
  • Items 9-10 should be sent directly by the Education Testing Service. You must
  • request that they do this. Photocopies are acceptable for initial processing.
  • The application packet may be requested from physicsgrad@uh.edu (Phone: (713)743-3523)

Disregard any notations to send documents to the Office of Admissions of the University of Houston. This delays the processing which must be done in the Physics Department.
